Every day, more and more people are waking up to the serious health conditions that can be caused by overexposure to high-intensity electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Natural EMF radiation is not harmful. In fact, all biological organisms emit and are sensitive to EMF. Ever wonder how certain animals are able to travel vast distances, back and forth without getting lost? The answer is they are sensitive to the naturally occurring EMF radiation of the planet. However, EMFs that are created by human technology is different, very different from naturally occurring EMF radiation. The biggest difference is what is called harmonic resonance. Naturally occurring EMFs are similar to the ringing of a bell, while artificial EMFs are full of static and noise. While this may seem like a trivial element, it is beginning to come out, that it is not. This disharmony can affect cellular functions as well as the nervous system of any animal that gets too close. Many professionals and groups are sounding the alarm about the effects of being exposed to these kinds of harmful EMFs.
In fact, one of the early opponents of artificial EMFs (i.e., radio frequency, microwave transmissions) was the International Association of Fire Fighters. In 2004, the IAFF released a statement opposing cell towers and wireless transmission equipment placed at or near firehouses “until a study with the highest scientific merit and integrity on health effects of exposure to low-intensity RF/MW radiation is conducted.” Since then the evidence of the harmful effects of artificial high-intensity EMF radiation has only grown and the dangers of toxic EMFs has become more and more apparent.
Sources of Harmful EMFs
High voltage power lines– As the backbone of our modern society, it may come as a shock to learn that the lines that help light our homes and power our technology should be a cause for concern. Wiring in homes and run throughout towns and cities can create toxic environments due to high-intensity fields crossing each other and negatively affecting the EMF.
Radio broadcast antennas– The dirty secret of the decades-old broadcast media, is the adverse health that people living close to antenna towers and masts have suffered throughout the years. While the industry has never acknowledged this, support groups for those suffering due to the effects of living near towers and mast do exist.
Cell phone towers– Disguised as trees, rocks, and electrical meters, cell towers are everywhere: hospitals, stores, light posts, and many more places. Nowadays, it seems anywhere there is space you can find a cell tower. However, the evidence is mounting that shows that this may not be a good idea.
Microwave transmitters– By far the most damaging source on this list, Microwave is the main technology behind the next generation of cell phones, i.e., 5g. Now with the rollout of 5g in full swing, many are starting to question the overall safety of all of these technologies.
Symptoms: The Dangers of EMFs
Due to EMFs being invisible and odorless, they can be hard to perceive, however, the effects on the mind and body are not. Enough evidence has been compiled to be able to create a symptoms list so that those affected can be identified and treatment options can become available.
Exposure to toxic EMF has been attributed to acute anxiety, chronic headaches, mood swings, trouble concentrating, mild depression, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), lightheadedness, general fatigue, difficulty sleeping, nausea, and a whole host of small ailments and discomforts. If you feel you have serious concerns, be sure to talk with a health care provider who is knowledgeable on the subject of EMF exposure.
Solutions
The first step for any solution is to know the source of the problem. This can be the hardest part to do without help. Fortunately, there is an emerging industry of EMF surveyors who can help if you are unable to locate or determine the exact cause of the EMF disturbance. Remedies range from metal-based EMF reflective paint or completely rewiring the electrical lines to just plain avoidance. Limiting your exposure is based a lot on distance. Be proactive, try to limit your exposure to all sources of EMF in your personal space. For example; use a headset or talk on the speaker instead of placing your cell phone next to your brain. Try to not sit or sleep within arms reach of any device that transmits EMFs (cellphones, wireless routers, smart meters, etc). While not all the questions about the effects of toxic EMF have been answered, one thing has become clear, that there is a danger of exposure to human-created toxic environments that requires humans to solve.
